hi
Maybe its worth posting your query to microchip on their forum
http://forum.microchip.com/tt.aspx?forumid=15
They also have loads and loads of support for the hardware they manufacture, bit difficult to find at first, but once your onto it, your up up and away![]()

Duncan
The Pickit2 do need ICSP capability of the Pic ...
That's all !!!
BUT ...
Just browse the web for simple 16F84 programmers ( see "ICPROG" web page i.e.
http://www.ic-prog.com/index1.htm or "JDM Programmer" ... ) when you'll see how simple they are ... you won't hesitate !!!

Why insist on using 32 Bits when you're not even able to deal with the first 8 ones ??? ehhhhhh ...

IF there is the word "Problem" in your question ...
certainly the answer is " RTFM " or " RTFDataSheet " !!!

Read this page; http://www.microchip.com/stellent/id...cName=en027813
You will see a list of all devices supported by the PicKit2 programmer, and a list of headers & adapters required to program/debug some device types (look down the right side).
Yes. Either build or purchase the required device header & adapter required for the device you have on-hand.is there any way to use this ic for the pickit 2 programmer.
Zk_bamx2,
you need winXP, .net &MPLAB8 and its associated package pblished on MIcrochip.com
You have to install the pickit2 2.4 driver .
After plugging in the PICKIT2, run the pickit2 software-- select midrange devices, select 16f84A and then load the HEX file.
make a small cable to plug into the ICSP socket - pins are described by them
connect the other end to the relevant pins of the f84A..
It should be possible to program Sir.

Sarma
