Did you had a look to Datasheet $ 12.3.7 ??? I see some flags that have to be set or reset @ power up " by hand " ....

I did actually RTFM - but I can't make heads or tails of this... what comes first the chicken or the egg when resets are envovled....maybe someone will throw me a bone....
