Lamp Dimmer on ME Website

Any clues as to where to start with the R3 value for the dimmer circuit posted on the ME website? I am making an effort to find out whether my problem is the 12F675 or programming or periferal devices. Do the input switches require pull up resistors? I need some seasoned direction.

Thanks! That thread is very helpful. I did a search before I posted. The thread you drew attention to is just what I needed. Originally I read the first few entries and thought it was unrelated. I learned quite a alot. Thanks again for posting a reply.
