GOT IT! Reinstalled the 555 timer with 7404 inverter.
I had to up the capacitor to 100uF. Works beautifully with 10K.
Just over a second (by eye), so now I can blip the button and reset is complete.

My Creality Ender 3 S1 Plus is a giant paperweight that can't even be used as a boat anchor, cause I'd be fined for polluting our waterways with electronic devices.
