I have to admit I am a total noob when it comes to programming and I had problems in the past with my old programmer so I bought the PICkit2 to use with my PIC basic Pro
Well I tried using it and it stated that vdd pin is invalid or something like that
here's how I have it wired up I don't have any diodes or resistors attached to the programmer am I supposed to?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

here is the datasheet for the PICKIT2. Your Schematic looks correct to me. What manner of problem are you experiencing ?

Are you powering the PIC with an independent power supply, or just the USB ? It will accept either, but not both together. There is a check box in the PICKit2 software to enable power from usb. Are there any loads on the 3 programming pins ? If so that will cause it to complain.Quote:

Well I can't quite figure out using MPLAB Ide yet but I couldn't even get it to link an LED
I tried micro code studio and then exported the hex fle and wrote it to the pic with the PICkit 2 os and still nothing.
How do I set the fuses for the pic kit 2?
I do not have it powered I am supplying my voltage from the Pickit 2
I just program it with the pic it's self and I don't connect anything to it besides the PICkit2
You need to set the fuses in code or in the *.inc
