Default Servo Horn onto Pot Shaft

I want to measure the travel of one of my servos (in flight) by connecting a pot to the servo via pushrods and ballinks etc.

Has any body mounted a servo horn onto the shaft of a pot to do this kind of thing and can offer advice on this procedure?

My first thought was not to use a servo horn but to use a regular knob and screw a ball link directly into the knob but that doesn't give me good linearity.

    Cheers

    Hi, Squib

    see here :

    http://www.teaser.fr/~osegouin/aeromode/servos.phtml

in the page middle, two views of the travel measure on a servos testbench ... for linearity, an encoder ( and not a pot ) is used.

Why insist on using 32 Bits when you're not even able to deal with the first 8 ones ??? ehhhhhh ...

    certainly the answer is " RTFM " or " RTFDataSheet " !!!
