Thanks alot guys. It was funny, I followed one of Darrel's other posts and found the sparkfun detector right after I posted it. I am going to try the detector eval board.

Reading the data sheet, it is about 2 years ahead of my current ability. I can send and recieve serial data to a serial graphic LCD, but this sensor seems a bit more advanced than a simple RGB analog signal I would like to be able to use. I ordered one, but it seems to have it's own digital processor and need a bunch of configuring. I am going to try to find a basic analog RGB sensor and work with that for a while. If you lived in Houston, I could take one of your classes and finish my ambient lighting project, hehehe.... Thanks!!!
