It looks like I'm going to be using a 12F629 for an application.
Any warnings/surprises/secrets and/or obscure aspects I should be aware of?

"Easy to use" is easy to say.
Hi Russ,
I have been using the 675 quite a bit lately and getting used to GPIO.X instead of PORT?.X is my only problem.![]()

Always wear safety glasses while programming.
We are using thousands of F629 in a month.
The only issue we have is with the chip's eeprom. Most of the time, the eeprom is not good.
So, we return lots of them; and this is time consuming.
When we use F675, we do not get any bad eeprom issue.
So, if you have lots of "write" routines in your application, I would say, go with F675.
F675 is more expensive then F629 ( for us it is; for some other is does not matter).

Be sure to turn off the analog comparators if you don't want them. Default has them turned on.
sayzer, that's odd. I don't use thousands a month, but I do use hundreds a month. I use the eeprom area quite aggressively and so far (knock on wood) I have yet to find an eeprom issue with the 12F629's. This is what I make and sell: http://www.york-electronics.com/

I think I've seen that gadget somewhere else ... but Where ??? ( LOL !!! )
Welcome here , Gary !

PS : Those 12F629 are a Very Special Turkish batch ... like Sayzer's programmer ... ( a Special Turkish copy of the K149 from Kits'r us ... )

Why insist on using 32 Bits when you're not even able to deal with the first 8 ones ??? ehhhhhh ...

IF there is the word "Problem" in your question ...
certainly the answer is " RTFM " or " RTFDataSheet " !!!

Hi Alain,
Yep, I'm not know for being 'under cover' for very long.
I wish I was named JD... who in their right mind thinks of "Gary" when they name their kids?
