I tested each channel with a 7 amp led cluster (Agilight Brightstrip see below) of typical sign led strips powered through a MOSFET.

Just a thought since I've got a load of leftover stock from a good deal gone rotten a couple of years ago (a lot of that going around these days...can't trust some punk kids for nothing ya know)...anyways, take a look at http://web.ndak.net/jdgrotte/kromatoobz/kromatoobz.html
Like I said, I've got a BUNCH of stuff leftover (400+ light strips, 800+ controllers, 300+ power boxes, and so on and so on).
The stuff on that particular site is one of my older designs, still works well, but I've moved on. I still ship a few kits a month, so I'm not going to liquidate the whole stock quite yet. I'll cut ya a quantity deal if you need some halfway decent stuff...
well, that and I'm tooting my own horn...
