    Nothing special needed. Connect to the serial port of the phone with an appropriate level converter and just send ascii AT commands, like ATD1234567890.

    Now I don't remember if a semi colon is needed for data calls. I think is for voice call.

    But this is the general idea.

    Rest is directly related to the hardware you are using both ways.

    If I correctly understand what you want to do...There are other similar single-chip modems.
