    >> Which of the above do you particularly object to?

It's not so much what I object too, as it is what Crownhill wants for their forum.

As you know, I've already lost my admin status once for deleting posts. And been talked to on 2 other occasions for the same thing. It turns out that the actions were justified, hence I'm still Admin. But it seems very clear what Crownhill wants for their forum.

Freedom of Speech, and Poster Responsibility.

This was a quote from Lester to me, that seems to sum it up pretty good.
Like all forum members, your contributions to the forum are welcome. The moderation tasks that you perform are OK, i'm not so certain that i like removal of posts that people wish they'd not made. Once somthings in the public domain, it should stay there regardless. They should think before posting. But i'll run with your descisions, they dont seem to be unjustified.
I guess I just thought it applied to both of us.

    Usually what goes, goes...

But sometimes things go a bit too far... when you read a thread and cringe as to some of the comments and character assassination that's being thrown about, then it's time to make a judgement call. I didn't get involved. I didn't take sides. I took the decision that the forum would be a better place if posts on a particular thread made in the heat of the moment that later make you look like a complete prat in the cold light of morn would better serve relations between forum members if they weren't there. How many times have you woken up in the morning looked around at whose sharing your bed and thought "OMG whatever possessed me to do that last night?"!!

Dammit, I gave up a pretty good job offer of moderating the Middle-East in order to prune that thread... at least the other job gave you a bullet-proof limmo and Air Miles...

    Melanie – Darrel,

While this discussion on how to censor the forum is an interesting topic. Do you not think a new thread would be a better place to have it in respect for the reason this thread was started?

    Not necessary.
