    Sorry to hear about Leinske.

By deleting a Registered User from the forum, all their posts can either be deleted or alternatively are set annonymously to 'Guest'. Leinske did make a contribution to the forum and he can alternatively be left inactive 'in memoriam' whichever is preferred. I have removed some of his details for example to prevent his Birthday appearing in the interim.

We solicit the forum's opinion here and will follow the majority's wish on the matter. (a) Delete all trace, (b) Delete but keep posts set to 'Guest' or (c) Keep as inactive?

And while that's a "Touching" techinical explaination.

I have to wonder about the amount of changes being made recently.

Why should your birthday not be remembered, after you're gone?

    > Why should your birthday not be remembered, after you're gone?

Actually no reason other than to remind folks annually that they're no longer with us, and those who don't know prevent posting Birthday wishes and sending messages to those who will neither receive or appreciate them...

    > I have to wonder about the amount of changes being made recently.

Is that a refernce to some thread edits that have been made by me last week?

    Smile my 2 cents ...

    Hi, Mel
    Hi, Darrel

"in mémoriam " is the best that can be done ... my opinion.

I was just a bit anxious about Marie-Rose's reaction when receiving the mail from the Forum ... she is not so strong, nervously.

There's no reason at all to remove his contribution to this forum, I knew him enough to know he always likes to be any help.

Reminding his memory to Forum's folks is also a nice thing.

to Mel : this thread has no reference to the Forum life ... you're our "Roy Bean" ( see " the law on the West side of the Pecos River" LOL ! ) and we respect all your decisions.
and Most of time we agree with ...

    Thanks for Alain

I guess I should file my "Last will and Testament" before it's too late.

In the event of my untimely demise, I wish that eveything I've done in life, remains intact.

I don't want to be the Dead Guy that's not here anymore and should be deleted.

I'd rather just be the guy that did cool stuff when he was here, but isn't around anymore. And my birthday will still be Nov 26. 100 years from now.

    Oh, and Yes!

OK, I've reinstated the DOB but kept the age and year hidden so that Leinske does not age anymore. I've removed his email so that his family are not distressed by any communications from this forum. The rest stays as-is.

As for edits... since justification seems is required...

    1. One thread was pruned. It was goddam embarassing. Everything of a technical nature was kept, but most of the more serious slagging between participants was removed. That in itself removed about 50% of the posts. In six months time, everyone concerned would be wishing they hadn't posted what they did... as far as this forum is concerned it didn't happen and we can all move forward as born-again friends.

    2. A second thread was ammended to ensure original authors rights were recognised as the way it originally appeared made it look like it was all the exclusive work of one participant only. After pruning one thread, last thing I wanted is to waste time having the same thing happen a second time around.

    3. A number of posts along with their originators were permanently deleted for posting spam.

Which of the above do you particularly object to?
