    Question GP4 reliable output

    Hi all,
I need to use GP4 as an output on a 12F629. I know a pullup to Vcc works, but does anyone have a sure way to make it VERY reliable?
    Thanks for the help!
    Ron

What's not reliable about it? If the power is good, ground is good, clock is good, why shouldn't GP4 stay where it's supposed to?
If you're that worried about it, keep writing to the port in your program.

    Smile Thanks skimask!

I am concerned because I've had several different ideas about needing a pullup on this pin. I also found that without the pullup, it was suseptable to outside noise, especially RF. Would also cause the chip to lock up on occasion. The Pro manual seems to suggest the pullup is necessary. Then Jeff (from MELABS) said it is not needed on that chip! Who really knows?? I am going to use it anyway!
    Thanks,
    Ron
