    Question JDM programmer

    First Hi to all .
    Sorry for my bad English !!!

    I was make pilot programmer JDM and find something interest !!!
    On windows 98 SE it work 100% ok also like ICSP.
    It need little modification to program new PICMICRO but it's OK.
    But under windows XP SP2 it's not work OK !!!
    When I programming 16F84A @ 4 MHz case problem in write to PIC and
    also in ERASE PIC.
    When I programming 16F84A @ 20 MHZ it's work 100% OK.
    Also with 16F877A @ 20 MHZ it's work 100% OK.

    Somethig is not clear in my head ;-)

    Do somebody explain me that reasn ???

    And I've said it before, I'll say it again, PICKit2...cheap, easy, supported, no problems...

    which driver software you are using? is it "picmicro"-- try using winpic800
    secondly- try replacing the electrolytic caps used. and ensure that Vpp is 12.5V .Otherwise use " icprog" there is a facility for delay adjustment I saw in " icprog" -- make it 15 or 20 - it should do your job.

    Icprog works perfectly with JDM on win XP

    so does winpic800. i only use icprog for the 2 chips i have that aren't supported in winpic800. i use winpic800 for everything else. also, most jdm serial port problems are solved when using an external voltage source for vpp.
