attached is an example of what I have made of one of the 40pin Boards.

It includes: 24LC512 EEPROM, DS1307 RTC, LCD connector, 3 Buttons, 2x8 DIP Switches, RESET BUTTON, MAX232, ICSP connector, 2 LEDs etc
(all this on a 100x80mm Board and there is still space left!).
