    Talking IR Remote Control

    I have a panasonic TV remote control. Since the remote hanset itself has so many buttons, i plan to simplify it by creating a simple handset that only contain -> ( on/off, channel up, channel dn, volume up, volume dn ).
    i used 40KHz IR decoder to remove the carrier and use PIC to capture the data into the memory, it just don't work ! the TV doesn't respond !

    Any better idea ?

    Are you modulating a 40KHz signal with that data on your homemade unit? Or are you only sending data without a carrier frequency?

    Default Just how did you captured the data into memory

    Hi,

    IR remotes uses different types of protocols mainly manchester oriented. However I have seen some chinese remotes which uses a variable pulse duty scheme with hold data. I don't know how you decoded the signal in the first place but the below links can be of real help:
