They seem to have a nice range of affordable DSO's. $345.00 US will get you the USB-powered Pocket Analyzer. Specs look good for the money.

    For under $300 it's a near impossible ask for something that's pre-made.

    Hi,

    The DSO is made by:
    http://www.hantek.com.cn/english/index.asp

    DSO-2100
    http://www.hantek.com.cn/english/pro...st.asp?unid=25

    Some files
    http://www.hantek.com.cn/english/down.asp
(note that there are two versions of 2100).

The same DSO is also sold by Conrad Electronics in Germany.
(Voltcraft is the Conrad Electronics brand name for OEM products).

    www.conrad.com (Select the U.K. flag).

Enter the part number: 121810 and press the button "Search".
(Note that the page will show the picture of the model DSO-220
which is also sold by Conrad).

Thumbs up Not a bad little 'scope

I have had the parallax usb 'scope for over a year now, and it is a handy little gadget. Santa brought it Christmas before last. Yes it is a little slow, and a 'toy' but I've found myself three or four times no where near a Tektronix, but I had my laptop bag with me, with the USB 'scope in the pocket. It has always shown me what I needed to know, and you can't beat the price.

Looks alright for the money. Very limited though. Some sound cards have a 60KHz bandwidth. You could devise something that's homebuilt and on par for about $50.

Even while the DSO-2100 is "acclaimed" capable of 100MS/s, it only has a bandwidth of 30MHz. That's DC bandwidth too. Realistically, the bandwidth for measuring say, a sine wave, would be probably much closer to 20MHz. Bitscope Pocket Analyzer's on the other hand can measure sine waves, in some cases beyond 100MHz. With only 25MS/s too! Highly sophisticated software smarts make this possible. The magic's all in the software.

I believe Bitscope to be entirely genuine with these claims. The author strikes me as being more of a scientist than an engineer out to develop something for 50 cents that would cost anyone else $2.

    Hi,

I think that the DSO-2100 is a revamp of an old model with parallel port.

    See:
    http://freenet-homepage.de/kritikus/...c/dso2100.html
    http://www.signal.ru/e/oscilloscope/dso2100.htm

The software of the DSO-2100 USB has a basic interface which is almost
the same interface of the model with parallel port.

The same hardware is sold with different brand names.

I don't think that new software updates will be available in the future.

    Best regards,

    Luciano
