IMPORTANT NOTE
The ICD process will NOT support USB devices (such as the 18F4550 etc)
when operating in USB mode.
David:
I downloaded the file, unzipped it,and the 16F886,16F887 does not appear.
(The readme.txt has more names than the included in the unzipped file.)
Your post is dated 3 years ago... Do you have plans to make an upgrade
including all those new models in a new CD.?
I will be happy to buy again the program, and I think I am not alone.
The J and K series are there, but when selected, the buttons of ICD compile
and ICD compile and Program stays off.
Thanks anyway for the working ones and I hope to hear from you.
I am a registered user of swordfish too.
Greetings...
Ruben de la Pena
David, I too have downloaded the zip, and Like Ruben Pena, could not find the file for 16F886/16F887. I love working with these 2 devices, and was rather hoping that my wait for ICD support for these was finally over.
Any chance at all for making those available?
Regards,
Anand
Assuming you may have a PICKIT 2, you may try it under MPLAB in meantime.
Steve

You know, I'd been meaning to bring this up myself.
I am using a Pickit2. But my knowledge / experience with MPLAB is very sketchy, at best. Every time I get tempted to learn using MPLAB as an IDE, but always find it very daunting. I know there's a page on the MeLabs page on how to go about it, but still..
What I want to understand is, if I do use the Pickit2 ICD under MPLAB, would the variables in my PBP code show up as well? Like they do in the MCSP ICD? Or would I see just the registers? And would I be able to singlestep thru' my basic program, like what MCSP allows?
Is there a page that talks about PBP-MPLAB-ICD combo? I've googled to find this, unsuceesfully.
All information on this topic would be highly appreciated!
Regards,
Anand
For those who also need the 16F886/887 ICD file(s), I finally managed to locate it; the FREE version of MCS at the Melabs site (ver 4.0), when installed, sets up an ICD folder that contains both these above files. Of course, the free version does not do ICD for anything but a 16F628, but the support files are there anyway. Just copy these into your full MCSP installed ICD folder, and you're ready to go.
Regards,
Anand
