    Talking midi sysex

    I was wondering if pic basic is the way to go
    I not only need to send midi notes but also midi sysex F0 7F 0 6 4 F7
    to a device can this be done

    As far as i'm aware of, if you can acheive the needed baudrate, there's no problem. Just do a google search and you'll find all the info you need. You may also found some PicBasic code.. no surprise if so.

    can anyone give me an example of this or lead me in the right direction
    thanks so much i did a search but only sending midi notes came up
    not sysexc (info to change hardware config like bank , program , dump or load., in this case i am trying to control a mackie harddisk recorder

    it shouldn't be as this much different. Look in your Mackie manual, MIDI command have to be listed. If not, ask Mackie. As i know them, they will send you the info you need. They don't provide the best quality product (but the best quality/price ratio), but have a great support for most of their Pro Equipement.

    Tell me wich Mackie unit you have. I do business with the local Mackie distributor/service center here.

    thanks again for your help i have a SDR24 harddisk recorder
    it works great but the controller is no longer sold. so i need to make my own.

    i've heard that some distributor may still have the MicroRemote Controller

    Talking re: remote

    I have found a few on ebay but $$$$$$$$$ is way up there
    so if i could i would rather make my own .,
    so i can add features not on the remote 24 .,
