    Default problem with picall

I have had some trouble programming with picall v0.16. Even though verify is not set, it seems to verify after trying to program the first byte and errors. has anyone had similar problems? or is there a better program to use with p16pro40 programmer to program 16f628A a,d 16f877a?

Why insist on using 32 Bits when you're not even able to deal with the first 8 ones ??? ehhhhhh ...

IF there is the word "Problem" in your question ...
    certainly the answer is " RTFM " or " RTFDataSheet " !!!

Does anyone know of other software that works with the p16pro40 programmer, so then I can determine if it is a software problem or hardware problem. A simple programming circuit that will work on picallw in place of the p16pro40 programmer would also help.

I used picall when programming 16F628's and it worked fine - then when I tried 16F87x or any of the "A" suffix devices it just would not work.
I've been using WinPicProg by Nigel Goodwin - works fine with my pic16pro40 programmer:

Note that updates for new devices are infrequent - check the list of supported devices to see if it includes those you want to use.

Just tried WinPicProg but i get an error when i try to load a hex file. It seems to communicate ok to read the pic but when i load a file that i have already writen i get the following, "Access violation at address 004636E0 in module 'WinPicProg.exe'. Read of address 00000000". Ihave installed the port drivers and re started but still get this message. Any ideas?
