    Smile 16f630 and LCD

as I learn more about programming I would like "play " with a LCD
would anybody give me some hints on what to buy this is just for playing and learning and I need to keep this cost down. Most of my programming (if you can call it that) has been with the 16f630 & 12f629 with PBP /CD lite and I guess the 16f630 would be the better choice
thanks for any and all help

That's still 'round 30$... too much expensive. I never found it was 'intelligent' to waste your money on a serial LCD while you can do your own interface for about 5$ (including all hardware.. PCB, PIC, +++ ,+++ )in low quantity.

ANYways that model you found will work.

If you plan to reduce the Pricing, look at their Character LCD Section. You'll find a 16X2 for less than 15$ in low quantity. http://www.crystalfontz.com/cgi-bin/...#character-lcd

Standard LCD modules -- character and graphic
We have a wide variety of "HD44780 compatible" standard character LCD modules and standard graphic modules. We have small order stock of each module in stock and ready to ship today.
So PBP LCDOUT will drive it directly.

    Steve

    It's not a bug, it's a random feature.
There's no problem, only learning opportunities.
