Are you looking for a way to reuse the LCD display only or... Is there any way to control the watch to set it to any value....
are you looking for a way to reuse the complete LCD clock?
Best regards,
Luciano

I love these... it's one of those suspense-filled movie moments... gay cowboy hero (Hollywood topical) has one of four coloured wires to cut to defuse the bomb... is it the red... or the black... or the...
Now how are we to guess what four coloured wires comming off an LCD do?
Hi Melanie,
Think positive! The cowboy hero has initiative and is not daltonic.
Let's see if we can help him anyway.

You gotta be top wizzard with search engines Luciano...
OK... I'm thinking positive... really positive...
1. I'm thinking that any time you meet a Black wire comming out of any device, it's got to be the cold or Negative Lead... I'm also thinking of US Power leads now...
2. I'm thinking that any time you meet a Red wire coming out of any device, it's got to be the hot or Positive Lead...
3. I'm really thinking Positive with this next one... that ANY Digital Device (despite the fact that it's a watch that's probably designed for an SR44 1.5v Battery) can be plugged into a 5v Supply and reliably work (see start of thread above)...
4. I'm also thinking that the Green wire is a Ground/Earth designed to provide you with a degree of Lightning protection when the watch is worn on the wrist...
5. I'm open to offers for the function of the White wire...
Gawd I need more caffeine...

I wonder how many UK wiring installations are going to get really confusing now that Mains wiring colours have been changed.
OLD - Function - NEW
Red - LIVE1 - Brown
Yellow - LIVE2 - BLACK
BLUE - LIVE3 - Grey
BLACK - NEUTRAL - BLUE
Shouldnt be too much of a problem in domestic installations but commercial 3 phase could be a nightmare !!!

I can see the logic behind it... we have Yellow/Green for Earth, Brown for Live and Blue for Neutral in single phase cables (I'm real glad that LCD didn't have a Brown and a Blue wire!). In panel-building, Blue DIN terminals were always used for Neutral. So this kinda brings single and three-phase somewhat in-line. And it eradicates Yellow being mixed with Yellow/Green (I have actually seen a supposed qualified electrician doing this in a factory!).
However I do really wish the powers that be stop tinkering. Ultimately, trust nothing and nobody but yourself.
I don't think there is anyway to reuse that LCD for display.......And If you have just tell me
Hi,
You can direct drive a LCD if there is no electronics on the LCD glass.
