As I was thinning down the stuff in my storage unit, I ran across a few goodies:
An original Compaq "portable"--still working!
Two Toshiba 1100+ laptops--also working!
And a Timex/Sinclair.
I don't know how old Bruce is, but I was already a schoolkid when Sputnik went up.
