Write Protected PIC

    Unhappy Write Protected PIC

    I accidentally protected a 16F871 and want to know if there is any way to erase and use it again.
    It is very hard and expensive to buy this things where I live. Knowing, this chip costs here about US$ 17,00.

    Yes it can be erased. Your programmer should have this capability.

    Why not go to Microchip's website and ask for some samples through their online cart? They will give you up to 12 PIC's for free with free shipping if you have a business or school email address.
