When all else fails, have you tried another USB port?
My Creality Ender 3 S1 Plus is a giant paperweight that can't even be used as a boat anchor, cause I'd be fined for polluting our waterways with electronic devices.

It fails just by opening the program without the programmer being connected. I get the same error in 2 different Windows 10 computers. I'm thinking that probably a Windows 10 update has something to do with this problem.
