Cool Compatibility in between 16f877 and 18f452

Is anybody know if a software running on 16f877 can run on 18f452 with some modifications in the picbasic file or should I rewrite everything.
The aim is simple I want to add some functions in my old program but unfortunatly no more space available on 16f877
The other advantage I see is about the string function available in 18'serie.
If it does not fit to 18f452, do you have an idea of an equivalent, even if I have to renew the circuit.
    Many thanks.

    Cool

    Hi Bidouille,

It's funny you should ask this question. My program on a 16F877A just shot over the boundries the other day. I had anticipated the growing program and bought some 18F452's during the early developement phase of my project. I made the move to the 18F452 and so far I haven't detected any problems making the move. You might want to go to Microchip's site and do a search for the features you are looking for and take a look at what might be to your needs.

Ain't this stuff great! I have been having a ball working with the PIC's and especially reading what other people are going thru on this forum. Thanks to all that contribute.
