Years ago, I was pretty keen on the 16F88 being a great general purpose PIC.

Wondering what has replaced it for experimentation?

Not terribly concerned about cost but flexibility is important.

I rather invest the time in becoming familiar with a does all part vs constantly chasing the smallest, lowest cost part for a highly specific application.
