Let me sort out what you're saying. Firewing first.

"anything that can compile code for an 18F26K22 can be used with the Firewing pic18 board"

So. If it is programmed will that wipe out bootloader?

Leads to: Then it is unusable as one click programmable in Firewing and Swordfish compiler?

" bootloader to interface to anything other than their intended IDE can be a problem"

Okay. That's what post is about. How is that problem solved?

One way it looks like is to just wipeout boot loader and program Firewing as PIC that's on it.

    We can live with that.

    About the Chjipino.

Actually it was a mistake mentioning it in Firewing post.

" Don't forget, this board will also work with ny Microchip 8 bit compiler. Some examples include the Microchip "C" Compiler, Swordfish, PICBASIC PRO or the PROTON Development Suite. "

    This is from Firewing page.

A person could just go "Okay. I'll buy it. He says it will work."

See where it says Gold on PIC Basic.

    That's what's bothering me.

Does Firewing work with Chuck Hellebuyck and Experimenter's PIC Basic?

Decided to go ahead and get a Firewing 8 bit.

Can use it with PIC Basic Great Cow Proton Firewing compiler and Swordfish.

Compile with PICKit3 and blank PIC or bootloaded PIC it comes with.

Use it with C compilers too.

It's an Arduino Uno type so can see what that's about.

    Now it's a good investment!
