Help needed sourcing a part

ooooPs, we have a problem.

We ran low on stock, and Microchip have the part we require on long lead time, 23/12/13, which is in turn means a shipment date in January 2014. arghhhhh!!!

Can anyone source these parts for us ? Or advise where we can find some, we need 500 but we'll take any qty below that.

Hmm, they are not always correct on their predicted shipping date. Probably like 6 weeks ago we ordered 480 of the 16F1939-I/PT, and their scheduled shipping date was for mid November. But, we went ahead and ordered them any ways. To my surprise they sent me a confirmation email around two weeks ago, mid September, letting me know that the order was processed and shipped. We got the parts a few days later.

I would suggest that you call them or send them an email to put some pressure on them.
