Microcode studio not showing data, though it is receiving it

I tried the same at 5v now. Same result. The datasheet page is attached which says default baud is 9600. But the microcode window shows nothing but 'Bytes RX' increase by 5 everytime I send a '1'. Should it not increase by 8? Does that mean the datasheet says the wrong default baud?
