Anybody have a trick to make fast and almost perfect square.
Since you are doing 50, one of these might help: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...knockout+punch

Not terribly cheap, but all you do is drill a round hole and you get a perfect square.

    Hi Lerameur!
The solution ready depends upon how your box is configured. If the circuit board or electronics are mounted on a/the flat lid then you could use a "nibbler" to create a square "slot" in the edge of the box. There is also a 90 degree punch (#81652 or #82394) from Micromark (www.micromark.com). Best, Ed

A 5 pin miniDIN connector would fit the bill pretty well. Only a $1.08 from mosuer. Here is a data sheet link:

    HI,

the 5 pin mini din is still a square.. but I really like that square punch from Ramius, It seems to be similar to a mortiser bit but is good for plastic, thanks

Yes, the minidin sockets have a square body but you mount them just behind the panel and have a round hole for the plug to go through.
