    I'm suprised Darrel or someone at MELabs hasn't jumped in here to help you out.

    I don't know the answer but you might want to go over to the support section at melabs.com and ask the question there.

    Probably if we could write the file(s) for new PICs then there would not be much of a reason to upgrade and think about the support problems.

    I'm mostly worried about the 16F887a. The version I have supports the 877a and I would like to try compiling with it and see what happens.
