There's no advantages to use real directional mic for voice recording. the Heil one is not even a pure directionnal mic, but has an interesting polar pattern.
SM58 or BETA 58 are close replacement Both are pretty decent, and considered as live & PA classics. BETA 58 sounds tad better though.
I'm a huge fan of Sennheiser Evolution 800 serie for my studio voice recording & PA use. When using them on a PA, they tend to have a better feedback rejection.
They have better frequency range, better sensitivity, sounds better than Shure, less dull, more hot, round & crispy (go figure what it mean) Check out Sennheiser e835 or e845.

For simple voice recording, e835 would be perfect. Shure Beta 58 in second place. Those should be in the same price range.
