Default Question for all that use MELABS PICBASIC PRO

Hi, i have a psp(playstation portable). Today, we could install an update.
    Ok, it had .PBP extension.

So i used google, and found this forum.
I imagine, that extension comes from compiling code with MELABS PICBASIC PRO, right??I just wanna know, if u have any program, or where can i find code to compile it with MELABS PICBASIC PRO and try to run it on my PSP.

MELABS PICBASIC PRO language is similar to C/C++??Or has nothing to do?

    Thanks

    oskuro I'm sorry,
but the .PBP extension doesn't necessarily mean it is a PicBasicPro File,
it could also be a PerlBuilderFile
    or any other . . .
    like
    "PlaystationBootProgram"

    Whatever file type it is,
I doubt they are giving away any source code

Why don't you just open the file in a (HEX) Editor and have a look at it?

So i used google, and found this forum.

Great that you have found this forum and registered to it, but I'm guess you are on the wrong forum.

PBP has nothing to do with C/C++, it is a BASIC language for PIC MicroControllers.
    regards

    Hi!

    http://www.oopo.net/consoledev/files/psp-updating.txt

    See text:
"This PBP format looks like an ordinary archive, much like a tar file, used to store a collection of files. Basically a simple header".

    See also text:
"I flashed my PSP with the possibly-fake update file. It was accepted as valid and installed fine, but when it was finished my PSP decided it doesn't want to do anything but sit there and look for something on the memorystick. So, do any flashing at your own risk".

    **********************************

    My advice:

Unless you need a new paperweight don't play with this feature.
(You will BRICK the Sony Playstation Portable).

    Luciano
