    Default Amicus Name

The name Amicus derives from the Latin word Amici, meaning friend. An Amicus is a person who speaks or performs on your behalf. The Amicus18 board will become your best friend, allowing a freedom to perform tasks that you never dreamed possible.

    It seemed to fit well.
The name sounds a little strange to me. How about an offshoot - Piquino?

I'm with you Charles, but I think it's too late for a rename. They already have it in Digikey, and Newark, and probably a few more places.

Here's another couple that are sort of interesting.

    Then there is Chipino: http://chipino.cc/

NO, the product name is Amicus and its over a year in the market place!

Its quite a common name, Google it and you'll see its well used, though NOT in the electronics sector, so as I say, it seemed to fit.

Now..... Charles, lets see...how about changing that to Matt.... yes that's better Matt Linquist, how does that sound to you????

I don't mind the name Matt. I could live with it.

Now back to 'Amicus': I have a friend that is really good at marketing. The company that he worked for closed. I'll send you his resume'.

Really, I don't need to see your friends resume, the product range is referred to as 'Amicus'

The product we have been discussing is' Amicus18'.

Obsessing over a name that is already established in the market place, seems to me to be an utter waste of time (as is responding to your post, yes i know i should not be writing this!). I think time is better focused on more important challenges (i.e. producing something that people truly want to use).

If you are suggesting that you or others actually like the product, but would avoid using it because of the name, ....well maybe the problem (if there is one) is not with the product, but more with those people.

I doubt i'll respond to further posts about the Amicus product name. I've yet to see the developer even lift an eyelid at this discussion, rest assured the name will not change.

    Lester,

I don't care what the name is! I don't like the names some people give their children, either. But I don't get to complain to them. I thought I was adding a little humor (humour).

The fact that I bought one means that I don't object tooooo much.

It's official, I have no memory.

It took me a while to figure out why Charles signed as Matt. At first I thought it was a relative posting under his account.

You don't have to worry about that. None of my relatives speak to me !
