Default Can I create a Windows/Linux app starting from PBP?

I have a need to create a small app to run on my computer (Windows) and also for use on a Linux based system. Is there a way to write it in PCP and then maybe through a different compiler, create an program that can be run on my computer?

I have a working knowledge of PCP and don't really want to learn a new language and I'm not even sure what language I should learn if it gets to that. I've been looking at java, python, C/C++.

Any thoughts, experience and feedback is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Hylan

PBP is no fix-it-all solution. It is appropriate for the platform it is meant. For programming under Windows / Linux, there are lots of tools both free and paid which you may use. If you like basic, there are lots of flavors that can generate Windows apps. Some names that come to mind MS Visual Basic, Liberty basic, and more. Google can help you.
