    Default Programming a 12C671/SM

Hi, can anyone advise me if there is any other way I can program my 12C671 (SM) without buying any expensive programmers. I had a U2 USB programmer with SM socket attachment, but it is a bit unreliable, sometime it works & sometime it doesn't.
So I do want to know about not so expensive programmers, if they are there in the market.

Not sure I understand the question.

PicKit2 and some pogo pins like Allister mentioned in another thread.

    Pickit2 can program 12C671?
Pickit2 does not get highlighted in green when I select 12C671 in MPLAB.
What I want to ask is a cheap hardware/circuit to program my 12C671. I can use my soic socket to place the PIC, but need some help in connecting it to my PC with a suitable circuit.

    Sorry, I was reading 12F617.

    Have you tried JDM type?

But poking around I wonder if setting the programmer for 12F675 would work?

    Sorry, not much help...
