Default Upgrade with 2.60 and new MPLAB problems

    Hi all,
Bought the PBP 2.60 upgrade and installed it on my new laptop running Windows XP service pack 2. Also installed the MPLAB version from the PBP CD. The problem I am having is that the PBP language suit is not listed in MPLAB. I have tried the special program that is included to register MPLAB add-on but it refuses to run. I only get an error message saying that the program is incorrectly installed, please try again. And I have tried again and again

Have anyone seen this problem before? Any easy fix for it?

Why have Microchip removed the support for PBP?

    Thanks
    Mike

Service pack 2 on a new machine? XP is up to service pack 3. Not sure if it will help with this problem but your system is out of date.

Default C++ making problems for Basic users :)

Problem solved. It was the Microsoft C deployment that was missing. I had to install it 2 times before it actually worked plus of course the mandatory Windows restart.
