    Default 16f690 I/O

on the 16f690 data sheet RA0 is listed as a general purpose I/O but it does not list a output type all others(for 690) are listed as CMOS is there something special about this output. I'm trying to convert some one wire bidirectional code for a 690 to 16f676 and I think this is causing a problem
    as always thanks

You might have an old datasheet, older version, older date, something...
I'm looking at DS41262E and all of the relevant information seems to be there.
