Found this about an hour ago. Tried it... Works like a champ. Take an old 'female' floppy drive connector, plug an SD card into it. Pins line up almost perfectly.
And who doesn't have a few floppy drive cables laying around....
Could it be any simpler than this?

I didn't really require BASIC code. Assembler source is actually quite abundant.
The routines I have access the SD card as a mass RAM with no FAT system,
which is the same way we use I2C EEPROMS.

Hi,
Is something similar already available somewhere?
An SD card socket has a switch to detect if the SD card is inserted.
This switch is useless to detect if the user removes the SD card
from the socket while data is written to it. With the solution
below, it is possible close the file as soon as the user opens the door.
(The file can be closed before the card is removed from the socket).
