Has anyone used the Lantronics Xport

I have finished an input output board that connects trough Rs232 and I am thinking about using a Lantronics Xport to connect it via Ethernet just as an RS232 tunnel. I have made a search in this site as well as in the melabs archive but haven't found any info.

Has anyone already done that? I dont know a lot about Ethernet... well to be honest I know very little and am lost with the xport. I do have two units but reading the documentation just leaves me in the middle of the forest.
