DS1307 multiple alarms

Greetings,

Does one have experience in working with the DS1307 as alarm clock?
I found several programs to read and set the date & time but not how to use it as an alarm clock.

What I would like to do is to use the DS1307 to trigger an port on a pic.
Several on/off alarms per day and if possible per week as well, so in weekends you get different timings.

eg
Day1
ON 09:00 - OFF 10:15
ON 14:50 - OFF 16:00

Day2
ON 08:00 - OFF 10:10
ON 20:00 - OFF 21:00
...

I'm looking for a way to read the time and date and compare it with the one stored in an eeprom.
