Just saw that an updated Application, Device File, and Operating System file was posted at Microchip.com for the PICKIT2 PIC programmer.
Pretty neat stuff in the new application...serial comm's tool built into the programming pins, ability to program a bunch of types of serial eeprom's, and, at least on my machine, it seems to 'hang' a bit less than before.
