From time to time I have trouble with my programmer(s) :(
The only one that works absolutely perfect is the PICkit2 from MICROCHIP.
I use MCS and, unfortunately, this programmer has no command-line option (to my knowledge) and this is why I use it only when I'm stuck with my other progammmer.
Does anyone of you know a uC based PIC programmer to build?

The source code and schematics of the PICKIT2 are freely available on the mchip website and it might be possible for the C# gurus over here to make a command line addition to it.
BTW the Pickit2 does not utilizes its onboard EEPROM so I already have in mind hacking the original firmware to make a stand alone programmer. I am afraid more than the shortage of time I would be busted by C18 :D.
Any ideas or suggestions ?
That's right! One can find all the stuff regarding the PICkit2.
Unfortunately, the source code is in C...
Nevertheless, I'm suprised that MICROCHIP doesn't release an application software supporting command-line functions.
It's a shame; PICkit2 is really an excellent programmer...

I found a website where the author has recompiled the source to accept command line. You need to replace the original ".exe" of the PC application. I haven't tried myself and not sure which version of the PC soft is applicable.
