Has anybody used any OEM style gps modules with PIC. I'd prefer to stay away from USB interface. Any info/recommendations appreciated.

There is an application note at http://www.crownhill.co.uk/datasheets/ZX4120%20GPS.pdf With a tutorial on interfaceing and example source code. This information is not specifically for PBP, but can easily be applied to PBP.
