sending sms with 16f877A

Hi
im trying to send and receive sms through 16F877A.friends who have done similer projects , help me to succeed. is it really possible to send and receive sms with this pic? what are the phone modles that i can use? can we program the pic or to detect automatically when a sms is received? or are there any libraries to be used? im hoping to use microC.
