Windows GUI
Hi everyone,
I have an application where I use a '876A as a remote controller with an Amulet Technologies touch screen LCD as the remote GUI. I need to have a local GUI to control the remote controller from a PC running Windows. Basically I think LabView is a huge overkill since I only have to set 3 analog values and 6 switches in this application (virtual sliders and switches on the LCD GUI). I also looked at MicroGUI from Rhombusinc.com and it looks nice but can't compile.
Here comes the question; does anyone know of anything similar to these that can create a nice compiled GUI on the PC with a serial comm, without breaking the bank and spend 6mo. to learn?
Thanks,
Zenon

Luciano,
Thanks, but not quite sure about the links to mistrer-e's site. I was looking for something that I could design myself. It seems that a compiled LabView VI might be the best alternative right now.
Thanks again,

Thanks Luciano for the free advert :D
In most cases i use Visual Basic and some OCX kit i buyed here and there.
In the past, Softwire was free... not now, anyways, you needed VB to use it.
Sorry, i don't know/use software like that.

Take a look at RealBasic

Very capable including USB full speed.

Capabilities of Windows programs involve more than PBP but easier than VB or Delphi. $99

Just BASIC and the commercial version Liberty BASIC are good starters for windows programming. I likened them as the Basic Stamp of windows programming. Eventually moved to RealBasic for more fully capable programming. RealBasic has been able for about every task except certain Excel automation.
Similar to Visual Basic. Documented VB to RealBasic Conversions.

Thank you all for your replies,
I was looking for something more in the "drag and drop, then modify" category, such as LabView, but maybe more of a specialized application such as a front control panel software. It seems though that LabView is the best bet right now.
Thanks again
