EPIC oscillator options
What is the option of LP (LF) all about in the EPIC oscillator list?
I assume it's in regard to low power and the LF series of chips.
Do you check this when programming these? (mandatory?)
I have a 16LF628a that I've just been choosing "XT" with....but there is some erratic behavior. (Circuit works fine with 16F628a).
It's a battery operated IRED xmtr (2 aaa cells)...sometimes when I pick it up to test it....it's dead until I do a hard reboot.
Thanks.

F, LF, C serie have nothing to do with the PIC configuration fuse.
XT, HS, RC, LP setting are the PIC oscillator setting/choice. Everything is covered in your PIC datasheet in the oscillator section.
You'll also find the difference between LF and F serie in the datasheet.

Yes, I know that but I was talking about the oscillator options in the EPIC software....not the configuration fuse.
?
Is it me?

LP is a Low Power oscillator configuration that allows you to run at 200Khz or less. For battery applications this can help make them last longer. Great for field dataloggers. Bad for SERIN/OUT etc.

Thanks Darrel....I think it was the (LF) in parantheses that gave me concern.
