PIC Basic Pro <-> HP-IL communications

Hello all!
I'm new on the forum, so if this has been covered, please let me know and excuse my posting here.

I need to work up an interface for an HP3468B multimeter. This device has only an HP-IL port for communications. I can probably handle the hardware part OK, but have no knowledge of the HP-IL communications protocol. My web searches did not turn up much information.

If anyone has code examples for HP-IL communications that would be really helpful. All comments invited and appreciated!
