need help on GP2D02...newbie

i need some help regarding on this circuit.i hav try using MPLAB but its too complicated..then i found out about PICBasic here...look kind easy to learn...but im still at beginer... i need some help on:

1. how to read the output from the GP2D02 IR sensor. It has 8bit serial out data as output and Vin to control the data out.

2. next is how to transmit data from the sensor to another PIC using serout

3. display on LCD

4: im using PIC16F84A
